The Big Oofs
After submitting the game I realized that there were multiple bugs that didn't catch my attention:
1: It was impossible to complete the game if you picked up both resources and tried to deliver them to the fireplace. I had just forgotten this tiny else-if statement that clears the resources and adds to a seperate score of how much has been delivered (fixed after jam).
2. The animation cycle looks really clunky because the keyframing was totally off, since there's an equal amount of frames between the sprite cycle. This has not been fixed as I don't think it makes the game unplayable.
3. If either left/right arrow key was pressed immediately after the opposite key, the animation would put the cat in a sitting position and make it slide on the ground to places unknown. I have not fixed this, but it can simply be done by modifying an existing script that I use for the movement, and minor changes in the animator statemachine.
Even if a prototype seems functional it may have some bugs that would otherwise be unnoticeable for the developer. This is why playtesting is a great thing and everyone should have their friends / family test their game before publishing it, to not disappoint other people!
